About the Role

We are seeking a skilled PFD Operator to join our team at GKN Aerospace's Filton site. As a PFD Operator, you will be responsible for conducting non-destructive testing and penetrant processing inspection of components to identify surface defects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for recording value stream tasks within the site Risk Assessment Management tool, ensuring accurate risk recording and control implementation.
  • Ensure parts are produced on a 'right first time' basis, adhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures.
  • Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system, highlighting any non-conformance to the Process Team Leader.
  • Performing tasks, learning, understanding, and working to governing specifications, ensuring compliance with all risk assessments and company Environment, Health & Safety Procedures.
  • Champion 'Export Control' compliance activities, ensuring adherence to the site 'Technology Control Plan (TCP)', guaranteeing compliance with Export Control Regulations, controls, training, and systems.

Requirements

  • Penetrant testing for EN 4179 Level 2 as a minimum.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team toward a common objective.
  • Previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment, knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives, and a background in mechanical/aerospace industry.
