Highway Design Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Design Specialist to join our team in Scotland. Our client is a leading engineering consultancy delivering high-quality design and engineering services across various sectors.
As a Highway Design Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and delivering highway projects, contributing to the improvement and maintenance of the region's road network. You will work on a variety of projects, including new highway designs, road safety improvements, and the maintenance of existing infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and prepare highway designs for new and existing roads, ensuring they meet client specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Manage and coordinate highway engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients and colleagues on highway engineering matters.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to inform the design process and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Liaise with local authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and successful project outcomes.
- Ensure all designs and projects comply with relevant legislation, including health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in highway engineering, including design, construction, and project management.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design tools.
- Knowledge of highway design standards, including DMRB and local authority specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work on complex engineering challenges.
