Electrical Controls and Automation Engineer

Join our team as an Electrical Controls and Automation Engineer and take on a key role in supporting the maintenance and technical challenges of our manufacturing lines.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global manufacturing company that is investing in its assets, people, and technology. As an Electrical Controls and Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for providing high-level engineering technical expertise to maximise productivity and achievement of targets in a high-speed production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice on electrical standards for maintenance improvement.
  • Modification, programming, and installation of control systems on automated machinery.
  • Manage improvements in electrical maintenance strategy and coordinate electrical asset care improvement programmes.
  • Reactive support for site automation issues with a clear escalation process.
  • Ownership of automation Capex projects.
  • Optimise automated warehouse performance by ensuring machines' hardware and software are performing.
  • Ensure all sites have the required software programs, licenses, and connections.
  • Provide specialist software/automation troubleshooting support.

Requirements:

  • Apprentice trained or graduate engineer in an electrical discipline with an electrical qualification.
  • Strong emphasis on Automation experience, electrically biased with PLC skills.
  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer with a background in PLCs and OEM, SCADA preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including Food, FMCG process, or General Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems.
  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on automation experience within automated warehouse environments.
