Job Summary

The Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Fellow in Acute Oncology to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing patients presenting to both Oncology and Emergency Medicine departments, under the supervision of the consultant team. The role will involve a 6-month placement in the Emergency Department and a 6-month placement at Weston Park Hospital, managing acute oncology patients.

The Clinical Fellow will be expected to participate in the Junior Doctor rota, with 80% of their time dedicated to clinical duties and 20% to non-clinical work. The role requires full registration with the GMC and a valid licence to practice. Non-UK/EEA applicants should ensure they are aware of the recent changes to the Immigration rules.

Requirements
  • Registered with the GMC with a licence to practise
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • ALS certificate
  • 2 years' experience on an UK Foundation Programme or higher (or equivalent)
  • 1 year experience of working in the NHS as a doctor
  • Minimum of four months full time equivalent experience in UK Emergency Medicine in a Foundation post or equivalent
