Job Summary

The Clinical Fellow in Acute Oncology and Emergency Medicine will play a key role in managing acute oncology patients and working within the Emergency Department. This is a fixed-term appointment for 1 year, commencing in October 2024.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing patients presenting to both specialities, under the supervision of the consultant team. The duties will be split between Oncology and Emergency Medicine, with 80% of the time dedicated to clinical duties and 20% to non-clinical work.

About the Role

The appointed Clinical Fellow will be expected to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing a wide range of patients and situations. The role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Requirements

The successful candidate must be registered with the GMC with a valid licence to practice. A minimum of 2 years' experience on an UK Foundation Programme or higher is required, as well as a strong understanding of clinical governance and audit principles.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in acute oncology and emergency medicine, with a strong track record of clinical experience and teaching skills. The ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex information to patients and colleagues is essential.
