The Role

We're seeking a skilled Infrastructure Architect to join our Cloud Platform Team, focusing on designing, implementing, and managing our group hybrid cloud platforms.

You'll play a key role in architecting, implementing, and managing our group hybrid cloud platforms, with a focus on VMware VCF clusters and critical national infrastructure.

With multiple growth programmes underway, you'll work closely with our Platform and Product leads to define, deliver, and support the design and development of solutions that meet business requirements and align with our target enterprise architecture vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT Architecture, Infrastructure Operations, and Project Management to ensure complete, operable solutions that meet business needs.
  • Own high-level technical designs, translating business requirements into Technology Architectures that align with Strategic Architecture.
  • Communicate and promote Technology Architecture, Strategy, and governance to stakeholders and technical communities.
Requirements

Essential Technical Skills:

Depth:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a technical subject matter expert, leading mid-sized project designs (£1m+).
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional qualifications or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Experience authoring high-level designs, low-level designs, and configuration plans for hyperconverged server infrastructure, VMware VCF, vSAN, NSX-T, and gateway connectivity.

Breadth:

  • Architectural modelling, design, and road mapping.
  • Adherence to business, architectural, and business governance processes.
  • DevOps / Automation / Orchestration.
  • Public cloud; AWS EC-2, S3, ELB, EKS, or equivalent tier 1 cloud provider products.
  • Microsoft Modern Workplace; Microsoft 365, Enterprise Mobility & Security.
What We Offer

Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including free parking, subsidised public transport, company discounts, Virtual GP service, Care Concierge service, and two volunteering days per year.
