We are seeking a highly skilled Public Finance Expert to join our team at HM Treasury. As a key member of our Housing, Planning and Cities team, you will play a critical role in shaping policy and managing spending for the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of public finance and a proven track record of delivering strategic advice to Ministers. You will be responsible for driving work on future local growth funding landscapes, leading HM Treasury's response to place-based priority projects, and providing high-quality advice and briefing to Ministers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and analysing policy and spending options to inform Ministerial decisions
  • Working closely with other spending teams and departments on specific high-priority place-based projects
  • Providing expert advice on public finance and policy issues affecting local areas

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in public finance and policy analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
