Machining and Toolroom Expert

DK Recruitment is partnering with a globally recognized manufacturer in Plymouth to bolster their Toolroom team. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for individuals seeking a challenging career in machining and tool maintenance.
Main Responsibilities:- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient and prompt service of manufacturing, repair, and maintenance of tooling, gauging, and equipment used in the production of company products.
- The individual must ensure that cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met, thereby contributing to the company's overall success.
In this capacity, you will operate various machine tools, including ProtoTrak Lathes and ProtoTrak Milling Machines. Experience with Surface Grinders, External Grinders, Internal Grinders, and Optical Profile Grinders is highly desirable. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings is also essential.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, working with tolerances up to ±0.0001"/0.0025mm. They will select and use appropriate measurement equipment to inspect finished tools and parts, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
This role requires effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in departmental training when required and maintain a clean, safe, and fully maintained work environment.
Candidate Requirements:- The ideal candidate should hold an apprenticeship qualification or relevant machining experience.
- A related qualification, such as City and Guilds or NVQ, is desirable but not essential.
- The individual should be willing to learn and adapt to new technologies as they evolve.
