Job Title: Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team in Cardiff. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building data pipelines that enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the business and for our customers.

About the Role

You will be working closely with the product, data analysts, and data engineering teams to build specific systems facilitating the extraction and transformation of Creditsafe data. Your primary responsibility will be to define and build data pipelines using Python and SQL in accordance with guidelines set by the Data Architect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build metadata-driven data pipelines using Python and SQL
  • Extract data from various data sources, including relational databases, files, and APIs
  • Help evolve our data platform with a view towards growth and high throughput
  • Ship medium to large features independently using industry-standard processing patterns
  • Experience designing and building autonomous fault-tolerant data pipelines
Requirements
  • Strong development experience within a commercial environment creating production-grade ETL and ELT pipelines in Python
  • Comfortable implementing data architectures in analytical data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
  • Hands-on experience with data orchestrators such as Airflow
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • Awareness of cloud technology, particularly AWS
