Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Surface Chemist and non-scientist to join our team as a permanent, on-site researcher. As a key member of our team, you will be at the forefront of innovative enzymatic biofuel cell research and development, focusing on optimising bioelectrode performance and developing strategies for converting wastewater into renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities- Meticulous planning and execution of experiments to ensure the acquisition of reliable and accurate results.
- Implementing electrochemical testing protocols to evaluate the power output of bio-fuel cells.
- Conducting all work in a safe manner according to our Health and Safety policies.
- Diligently recording experimental procedures and laboratory results.
- Adhering to high standards of housekeeping throughout the work environment.
We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of an MSc in Surface Chemistry, Nanomaterial Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, with a demonstrated research record in surface chemistry and interface science. Extensive hands-on laboratory experience in surface modification and functionalisation of electrodes, including solution coating techniques and biocatalyst immobilisation, is essential. Practical experience in a GLP chemistry laboratory, including log-keeping, and traceability management, is also required. A PhD in a relevant field is highly desirable.
