Controls Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our remote support team at TGW Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing technical support to our customers and ensuring the smooth operation of our control systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical support to customers via phone and other communication channels
  • Resolve complex operational and systematic issues efficiently
  • Develop and deliver training programs for LTS and customer teams
  • Identify and address common issues that can be resolved remotely or through additional site training
  • Manage and maintain our ticket system and department documentation
  • Serve as the technical expert for Controls-related issues across multiple sites in the UK, Europe, and the US
  • Escalate problems within the organization as needed and ensure timely resolution
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and support colleagues
  • Design and implement PLC code for upgrades and enhancements
  • Participate in on-site support activities as required to support project works and training
Requirements:
  • Experience in Materials handling/Automation or a related field
  • Proficiency in Industrial Control Systems (Siemens Step 7 to TIA Portal)
  • Knowledge of Drives and Networks within automated systems
  • Ability to read Electrical drawings for fault finding
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience with MS Office suite and comfort with Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong problem-solving and planning skills
