The North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Histopathology Services department is a dynamic and innovative lab, based at the Cumberland Infirmary site. Our team processes over 21,000 histology requests annually and around 1,200 non-gynaecological cytology samples, including some fine-needle aspiration work.

We are seeking a Senior Medical Consultant with full GMC registration (including a valid licence to practice) and excellent continuing professional development (CPD) skills.

  • A minimum of one year’s experience in coronial post-mortem work, as well as a willingness to participate in our autopsy rota.
  • Proven teaching abilities for undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff, with a strong commitment to education.
  • Experience in training non-medical health professionals.

This role offers an attractive annual salary of £120,000–£150,000, depending on experience, plus various benefits listed below.
