Financial Controller Job Description

EA First Compass House is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a logistics and transport company based near Milton Keynes, with a possibility of long-term scope for progression into a Finance Director position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide in-depth analysis and commentary to support strategic commercial decision-making, including scenario analysis for tender submissions.
  • Financial Management: Maintain general ledger accounts, determine journal entry requirements, and prepare and post journal entries.
  • Financial Controls: Conduct monthly general ledger account reconciliations and other financial controls in compliance with company policy.
  • Financial Review: Conduct preliminary review of financial reports prior to final close of the general ledger and perform analysis of financial results as part of the financial and operational review process.
  • Environmental Impact: Consciously deal with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water, and fuel consumption.
Requirements:
  • Professional Qualification: Professional qualification in accountancy or finance (such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is essential.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a large, multi-component company, is essential.
  • Industry Experience: Experience of working in a logistics or supply chain industry is desirable.
  • Financial Modelling: Excellent financial modelling capabilities are essential.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Strong ability to liaise with senior stakeholders is essential.
Remuneration:

£65,000 - £70,000 + excellent bonus

Work Type:

Permanent, Hybrid (2 days home - 3 days office)

Hours:

Monday to Friday - 40 hours a week
