As a key member of the Network Rail team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor contractors' on-site activities, ensuring that they comply with the relevant specifications and latest practices.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with contractors to deliver site activities that meet the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP) and relevant rules, regulations, and Network Rail's company standards.
  2. Encourage an awareness of health, safety, quality, and environmental (HSQE) best practices among contractors and ensure they are aware of Network Rail's policy for reporting accidents and incidents.
  3. Review and accept contract documentation in conjunction with the Protection Engineer, ensuring that contractors have adequate communication plans in place to inform line-side residents of proposed works.
  4. Monitor the validity of contractors' employees' competency documentation and maintain a regular site presence to ensure that work is carried out to the required standards.
  5. Inspect completed works and survey for readiness, recording the outcome and controlling any remedial works required.

Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in construction or the railway industry.
  • 2 years' experience in a supervisory role in construction or the railway industry.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Nebosh construction certificate.
  • Environment awareness.
  • Construction Site Supervisor card from CITB Construction Skill Certification Scheme.

Desirable:

  • Construction trade background.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Clean driving license.
