About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Underwriter to join our National Commercial Underwriting team at NFU Mutual.

This part-time opportunity enables you to balance professional and personal commitments with flexible hours to suit your lifestyle.

As a Commercial Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing risks across various business classes, including Motor Trade, Farm, Estates, and Commercial Select products within our Small to Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) or New Business teams.

You will work collaboratively with our agencies, resolving complex referrals and ensuring effective management of the insurance risk cost, while delivering the right solution and service for our customers.

We provide a comprehensive induction for this role, and following your induction, you will continue to receive ongoing training to support your career progression and personal growth.

Working hours are 21+ hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts between 8am and 6pm.

We offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work some of your hours from home.

To help you give your best in the office and at home, we are open to discussing what part-time hours might look like for you.

About You

You are a Commercial Underwriting professional with varied experience of complex and technical cases within a regulated environment, including working within Authority.

If you have previous exposure to a broad range of Commercial General Insurance products and are a keen learner, we would love to hear from you.

You will have a customer-focused mind, strong attention to detail, and the ability to make rational and logical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
