Critical Facilities Expert Required

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Facilities Expert to join our team of expert engineers. As a key member of our critical facilities group, you will be responsible for designing data centre and other critical engineering spaces, supporting audit and proposal development, and liaising with subcontractors and specialists.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Independent M&E Design and Build Contractor in the Yorkshire region, delivering complex projects nationwide. You will work closely with developers, contractors, architects, and end-users to deliver bespoke solutions that meet their unique needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design data centre and critical engineering spaces, considering factors such as resilience, reliability, sustainability, energy efficiency, maintainability, and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Support audit and proposal development, working closely with the wider design team to deliver high-quality documents and presentations.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and specialists to ensure smooth project delivery and compliance with project specifications.
  • Undertake site surveys to inform tender responses and concept designs, and conduct site audits as part of a team to review layout and configuration.

Requirements

  • A strong background in data centre and critical infrastructure engineering, with experience in design, auditing, and technical development.
  • Qualified to degree/HNC level in a related field or with significant practical application.
  • Familiarity with data centre and critical infrastructure engineering concepts and technologies, including UPS systems, standby generation, critical cooling systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Experience working with BIM software and proficient in office software, able to produce high-quality professional documents, presentations, and reports.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, flexible working hours, and opportunities for career progression.
