About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Assistant to join our team at Thompsons Solicitors. As a key member of our personal injury law team, you will play a crucial role in managing a caseload of pre-litigated cases, primarily focused on personal injury claims for our union members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations and gather evidence to determine whether litigation is warranted.
  • Handle a wide range of tasks, including initial merit assessments, obtaining liability evidence, pre-action disclosure, securing medical evidence when necessary, making disclosure decisions, assessing claim values, and liaising with clients, witnesses, experts, unions, third parties, and defendants.
  • Produce high-quality work with minimal assistance from administrative and support staff.
  • Develop proficiency in using our case management system, Mattersphere.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of personal injury law is advantageous, but we are open to training candidates who show a strong interest in this area.
  • Familiarity with Pre-Action Protocols, Civil Procedure Rules, and funding procedures is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding client care skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and make informed decisions.
  • Understanding of case management systems and proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft suite (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook).
