About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Technical Manager to join our UK MEICA team at Laing O'Rourke.

This role will be part of the MEICA Systems Engineering & Assurance Team, responsible for ensuring technical excellence, assurance, and performance across all our projects in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the MEICA System Engineering and Assurance Team to deliver technical excellence.
  • Develop and maintain company 'Standard Equipment and Minimum Requirements Specifications' to ensure contractual and statutory requirements are met.
  • Liaise with procurement clusters leads and the company's preferred and approved supply chain to ensure specifications are robust but not restrictive.
  • Establish and maintain company 'Inspection and Testing Procedures' (ITPs).
  • Support the Chief Electrical Engineer in conducting technical audits/peer reviews on projects to ensure technical compliance.
  • Support the Chief Electrical Engineer with technical enquiries and interventions on projects.
  • Capture and share technical lessons learnt to drive consistency through Technical Guidance Notes or Technical Bulletins.
  • Work with the training department to provide relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training to develop staff.
  • Support development of industry standards and guidance through technical committees and working groups.
  • Support project teams with technical issues during bid, pre-construction, and construction stages.
  • Support business units in transitioning to Infrastructure type projects by upskilling staff and developing supply chain and specifications.
Requirements
  • Experience in MEICA design from concept to completion.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or other appropriate construction-related qualification.
  • Deep and broad experience managing the design of construction or building services projects.
