About the Role

We are seeking a Credit Control Specialist to join our team at an undisclosed company. The ideal candidate will have experience in professional services, particularly in credit control and debt recovery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all credit control procedures in line with the company's policy and maintaining accurate records using Workday. They will also actively chase debt within the allotted portfolio, using appropriate means, and update stakeholders as necessary.

The Credit Control Specialist will work closely with the credit control manager to identify problem debts and escalate them accordingly. They will also liaise with other credit controllers across the firm and provide client bases with monthly statements of account as required.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present confidently and convincingly to management. They will also have a commitment to delivering exceptional client service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle all credit control procedures in line with company policy
  • Actively chase all debt within the allotted portfolio
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client notes using Workday
  • Have regular face-to-face meetings with stakeholders regarding their debt portfolios
  • Monitor queries and disputes, ensuring appropriate escalation
  • Ensure consistent application of the firm's debt provisioning policy
  • Ensure that the debtors ledger contains minimal adjustments and promptly return, apply, or clear overpayments or payments on account
  • Review and analyze aged debt against defined metrics
  • Prepare summary reports as and when required
