About the Role

NFU Mutual is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Renewable Energy Surveyor to join our team as a Lead Renewable Energy Surveyor. As a key member of our Loss Control department, you will play a pivotal role in reducing renewable energy risk and losses within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed surveys of complex renewable energy risks to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Provide expert guidance to underwriting and other stakeholders on renewable energy risk management.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Head up and implement programs to enhance the understanding and skills of Loss Control surveyors, underwriting, and agency colleagues in renewable energy.
  • Assist in making informed capacity deployment decisions by providing underwriters with accurate, scenario-based estimates of potential losses.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess an extensive and in-depth knowledge of a wide range of renewable technologies and associated legislative requirements. You will have experience in providing detailed technical advice and guidance on renewable energy matters to a wide variety of stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of renewable technologies and associated legislative requirements.
  • Experience in providing detailed technical advice and guidance on renewable energy matters.
  • Ability to identify risk management decisions and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Experience in training and upskilling on renewable technologies, potential risks and hazards, and appropriate loss prevention measures.
  • Ability to provide detailed reports for all classes of renewable energy and create guidance documents.
  • Previous experience in insurance, underwriting, claims, or surveying (desirable).
  • A full valid UK driving license is essential for this role.
