About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our renewable energy risk management efforts. As the Lead Renewable Energy Surveyor, you will play a critical role in reducing renewable energy risk and losses within NFU Mutual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed surveys of complex renewable energy risks to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Provide expert guidance to underwriting and other stakeholders on renewable energy risk management best practices.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and standards to ensure NFU Mutual remains at the forefront of the renewable energy sector.
  • Head up and implement programmes to enhance the understanding and skills of Loss Control surveyors, Underwriting, and Agency colleagues in renewable energy.
About You

You will possess an extensive and in-depth knowledge of a wide range of renewable technologies and associated legislative requirements, as well as the potential risks and hazards associated with them. You will have experience in providing detailed technical advice and guidance on renewable energy matters to a wide variety of stakeholders.

Your influence and negotiation skills will be key when communicating with a range of stakeholders at all levels within the business while quickly establishing strong relationships and managing your personal reputation.

Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of renewable technologies and associated legislative requirements.
  • Experience in providing detailed technical advice and guidance on renewable energy matters.
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to identify risk management decisions and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Experience in training and upskilling on renewable technologies, potential risks and hazards, and appropriate loss prevention measures.
