Project Estimating Manager Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Estimating Manager to join our client, a reputable building contractor based in the North East.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and maintain accurate estimates for construction projects.
  • To coordinate with design teams to produce detailed estimates and quotations.
  • To analyze and interpret bid documents, evaluating costs and risks associated with each project.
  • To negotiate and agree prices for materials and services with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • To manage and control project budgets, identifying areas for cost savings and implementing efficient solutions.
  • To assist in the development of tender documents and proposals.
  • To participate in site visits and meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • To provide regular updates on project progress and performance.
  • To collaborate with the Commercial Manager to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and other relevant software applications.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet changing deadlines and priorities.

Estimated Salary: £48,000 - £58,000 per annum, depending on experience.
