Improve Patient Care as a Senior Pharmacist at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to lead our Pharmacy Homecare Service and serve as the Pharmacy lead for governance of high-cost drugs. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care while working closely with a team of professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Liaise and communicate effectively with homecare teams, including providers, to ensure seamless delivery of medications to patients.
  • Provide expert advice and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on homecare-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and data within our pharmacy computer systems and databases.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely invoicing and adherence to Best Value Medicines principles.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality and efficiency in homecare services.
  • Investigate incidents and contribute to audits to maintain high standards and adherence to Royal Pharmaceutical Society Homecare Standards.
  • Pursue research and development activities to improve homecare supply and management.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or relevant experience.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council and independent prescriber status or willingness to obtain it.
  • Extensive post-registration experience, preferably in primary or secondary care, with expertise in rheumatology/metabolic bone health.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide expert advice.
