Business Analyst Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our IT team at Nationwide Platforms. As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in defining, agreeing, and justifying requirements for change while finding economically viable solutions.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the UK business to identify and prioritize business needs, develop business cases, and ensure that project deliverables meet the needs of the business.

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge and understanding of core business systems and functions, including ERP, CRM, Finance, HR, Operational Delivery, IT Infrastructure, Workflow, and Process Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to meet business needs.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, partners, and IT colleagues to develop and implement business solutions.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and unambiguous requirement specifications to ensure designs are fit for purpose and objectives are met.
  • Support QA testing, guide and assist participants in User Acceptance Testing, and go-live processes.
  • Act as an IT representative on relevant business forums, participating and promoting best practice and relating to the IT strategy.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to solve problems and propose practical, effective solutions.
  • Proactive, with a high level of self-motivation and determination.
  • Experience of working as part of a project team.
  • Experience with business process mapping to relevant standards.
  • Able to manage stakeholders at all levels within an organisation.
  • Able to travel in the UK and abroad from time to time as necessary.
  • Holder or working towards BCS Business Analysis Diploma/certification.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of rental businesses and their systems and processes.
  • Thorough understanding of agile and waterfall project methodologies.
  • Familiarity with database structures and design.
