Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Control and Instrumentation Team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex control and instrumentation systems for our submarine propulsion systems.

Your primary focus will be on developing functional designs and associated Bills of Materials for C&I solutions, including deriving functional designs from Piping & Instrumentation diagrams. You will also be responsible for specifying instrumentation measuring pressure/temperature/flow/level/analysis and remote functionality for the C&I solution.

As a Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you will work closely with our integrated delivery teams to ensure that our design solutions satisfy the wide range of submarine functional and non-functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop functional designs and associated Bills of Materials for C&I solutions.
  2. Derive functional designs from Piping & Instrumentation diagrams.
  3. Specify instrumentation measuring pressure/temperature/flow/level/analysis.
  4. Specify remote functionality for the C&I solution.
  5. Judge and measure compliance against non-functional stakeholders (EMC, Shock, Metallics etc.).
  6. Produce verification evidence to demonstrate design compliance with requirements.
  7. Produce various design documents such as; I/O schedules, instrument schedules, cable schedules, functional design specification, instrument specification.
  8. Implement physical system-to-system interface design.
  9. Undertake/lead technical design reviews for C&I.
Requirements
  1. Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background.
  2. Possess a multi-disciplinary understanding of engineering through experience including; Mechanical / Process / Instrument / Electrical / Control / Safety.
