Job Title: Healthcare Professional - Learning Disability Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a Learning Disability Specialist. This role will be based within the Learning Disability department at Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters, covering Lanarkshire.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and caring professional to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. As a Learning Disability Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of annual physical health checks for people with Learning Disabilities in Lanarkshire.

You will work closely with senior charge nurses to provide guidance on the Scottish Government's recommendations for annual health checks, ensuring that those aged 16 and over who have a learning disability receive the necessary support.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of annual physical health checks for people with Learning Disabilities in Lanarkshire
  • Collaborate with senior charge nurses to provide guidance on the Scottish Government's recommendations
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective delivery of healthcare services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to promote health and wellbeing initiatives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid UK NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • A car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA license and access to a vehicle
