Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate support worker to join our team at a fantastic secondary school in Wandsworth.

The successful candidate will provide support to children with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This includes pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD).

You will work closely with a dedicated team of teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff, as well as liaise with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

The role involves assisting class teachers with delivering curriculum material focused on core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science.

Our ideal candidate is a graduate with strong academic qualifications, holding a 1st Class degree or 2:1. You should have experience working with children and SEN/SEMH needs, as well as a good understanding of the current curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Work alongside class teachers to deliver curriculum material
  • Liaise with the SENCO to ensure student progress
  • Lead 1:1 and small group interventions targeting pupil progress
