Plumbing Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Plumber to join our team at HMP Exeter, a category B local adult male prison. As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing teams and overseeing maintenance compliance.

• Manage and supervise a team of Plumbers and other maintenance staff
• Oversee maintenance compliance and ensure that all work is carried out to a high standard
• Work closely with other departments to ensure that maintenance is carried out efficiently and effectively
• Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure that the prison's facilities are maintained to a high standard
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure that maintenance is carried out in a way that minimizes disruption to prisoners and staff

• Five years' experience as a Plumber or equivalent
• Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
• Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water or building services systems
• Experience of supervising staff
• Confidence and competence in using full MS Office package
• C&G 6189 Plumbing and domestic heating
• C&G 5962 certificate in Plumbing (Advanced craft)
• C&G 6019 Mechanical Engineering services (plumbing)
• C&G 6018 heating and ventilation installation
• C&G 6129 certificate in Plumbing
• C&G 214 Engineering systems maintenance
• C&G 6188 Heating and ventilating
• C&G 6088 certificate in heating and ventilating
• C&G 6032 the advanced craft certificate in plumbing
• EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
• Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification - Desirable
• Relevant professional qualifications (facilities management/project management) - Desirable
• Good Health & Safety knowledge
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
