Financial Modeling Specialist

Convera is seeking a Financial Modeling Specialist to play a key role in helping create transparency and data-driven decision making into our technology investment portfolio. This new role will be a key part of our Technology Investment Governance process.

The Financial Modeling Specialist will support the financial modeling of technology investment opportunities and inform the prioritization process for senior leadership through clear business cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong business background with continuous improvement and change mentality, as well as financial modeling experience and proficiency in MS Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial modeling - generate financial models based on business case projections or historical performance with rigorous analysis.
  2. Prepare reports and presentations - regularly prepare and generate reporting and presentations for portfolio reviews and ad hoc internal reviews.
  3. Dashboard/MI maintenance and management - wrangle and retrieve large data sets for consolidation, illuminating standard reporting metrics within custom dashboards.
  4. Participate in regular retroactive and value realization reviews - support the measurement and analysis of our performance on past projects.
  5. Due diligence - answer questions arising from the review of historical financials while identifying gaps in provided performance and assumptive data sets.

Requirements:

  1. Typically requires minimum of 2-4 years of experience working in a hands-on environment in financial analysis with advanced analytics tools.
  2. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including modeling, advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
  3. Hands-on proficiency in one or more of the following business intelligence, visualization, and advanced analytics tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Data Robot, DataBricks, or other similar systems).
