Job Title: Derivatives Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Derivatives Specialist to join our team at The Emerald Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing derivative operations and ensuring compliance with policy standards.

About the Role:

  • Design and implement effective processes and procedures for derivative operations, ensuring alignment with policy standards.
  • Deliver expert SME support for derivative risks and retained operations, guaranteeing efficient task management and adherence to market and regulatory deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and third-party providers to oversee all asset services activities.
  • Monitor and reconcile collateral positions with Investment Managers and Custodians, guaranteeing sufficient liquidity availability for daily margin calls.
  • Ensure derivative risks are managed effectively and aligned with risk appetite.
  • Support third parties in delivering agreed-upon retained services for the respective service area.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the asset management/investment industry.
  • Familiarity with life assurance and pensions business, with an understanding of bulk purchase annuities desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the UK regulatory environment and industry awareness for life offices and working with regulators.
  • Strong derivatives and/or investment background preferably within a Life Insurance company, Asset Manager, or Consultancy.
  • Understanding of key risk and controls needed for OTC derivatives.
