Job Opportunity: The City of Liverpool College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Art and Design Lecturer to join our team. This is a part-time position that requires a strong passion for education and a commitment to delivering high-quality lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the College's strategic objectives and engage in the annual review process.
  • To stay up-to-date with national developments in the subject area and update knowledge and skills accordingly.
  • To plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that achieve effective management of the learning process.
  • To use a range of effective teaching and learning techniques to engage and motivate students.
  • To establish a purposeful and motivating learning environment that promotes student autonomy and independence.
  • To establish and maintain procedures that promote appropriate behavior, communication, and respect for others.
  • To set, mark, and record work in accordance with College and School Assessment policies.
  • To track student progress and attendance in accordance with agreed College systems and policies.
  • To provide a balance of teaching styles and learning experiences.
  • To be aware of external and internal assessment procedures and play an appropriate part in their implementation.
  • To liaise with the Head of School and Deputy Head of School to contribute to the design of programs and teaching approaches.
  • To review own professional development needs and participate in future training and development.
  • To communicate and consult with parents, carers, and students.
  • To ensure that all students comply with College policies and procedures.
  • To provide enrichment opportunities that enhance the student experience.
  • To ensure learners are supported with a well-prepared VLE and resources for independent study.

Requirements:

  • Educated to Level 6 or significant industry experience.
  • Knowledge and links to the relevant industry within the city region.
  • Proven relevant experience of curriculum planning, development, and delivery across UAL courses.
  • Proficient in a range of Art and Design practices.
  • A recognized Teaching qualification.
  • Excellent computer literacy and ability to use current IT programs.
  • Engaged and passionate about Continuing Professional Development.
  • Minimum of Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues, and oneself.
  • Strong understanding of the importance and impact of feedback on learner performance.
  • Experience using ICT to support and enhance subject delivery.
