About the Job

Total Spectrum is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Domestic Abuse Family Support Practitioner. This position involves working with families affected by domestic abuse, providing comprehensive support and guidance.

Job Details

Salary: Competitive, based on experience ($60,000 - $80,000 per annum).

Location: Primarily based at central sites in Northampton.

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (including some out-of-hours and on-call work).

Contract Type: 1-year fixed term, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct needs assessments and develop individualized support plans for families affected by domestic abuse.
  2. Build strong relationships with service users through one-on-one and group work.
  3. Engage with external agencies and attend meetings to serve as an advocate and support for clients.
  4. Facilitate activities, therapeutic sessions, and intervention programs aligned with service outcomes.
  5. Handle sensitive situations with crisis management skills, providing on-call support and managing a caseload effectively.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of domestic abuse impacts, safeguarding practices, and relevant laws.
  • Proven background in supporting domestic abuse survivors, managing caseloads, and maintaining records.
  • Empathy, integrity, flexibility, and the ability to build rapport with vulnerable individuals.
