Job Description: Site Layout Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Site Layout Engineer to join our team. The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for accurately marking and establishing the position of structures, roads, pipelines, and other features on construction sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct detailed site surveys to determine the exact location of structures, foundations, roads, and other features on construction sites.
  2. Interpret construction drawings and plans to guide the site layout process.
  3. Mark reference points and benchmarks onsite for construction activities.
  4. Use advanced surveying equipment such as total stations and GPS to set out the layout of structures and infrastructure elements.
  5. Regularly inspect and assess the accuracy of the work against design specifications.
  6. Identify and rectify discrepancies or deviations from the plans.
  7. Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between design intent and onsite construction.
  8. Record and document site survey data, measurements, and layout information.
  9. Generate reports and maintain accurate records of site layout activities.
  10. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on construction sites.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Site Layout Engineer on construction projects.
  • Expertise in using advanced surveying equipment such as total stations and GPS.
  • Familiarity with relevant software for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex site layouts and make informed decisions.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in site layout activities.

Salary Range: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
