Technical Leadership Role

As a Staff Engineer at Sainsbury's, you will play a key role in leading our technical teams to drive innovation and excellence in the Supply Chain and Data space. You will work closely with multiple teams to deliver projects that impact our business, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills to drive technical decisions and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Engineering to set and achieve strategic goals and objectives, evaluating and driving technical decisions and planning team development and support.
  • Work with engineers at all levels to promote technical standards, share expertise, and provide coaching and mentoring to help them find the best solutions and perform at their best.
  • Contribute to the development of our engineering entry programs, ensuring we recruit the best talent and continuously raise the bar.

Requirements

  • Experience in Java and Kafka, with technical depth and breadth, and the ability to drive continuous improvement to get the best outcomes.
  • Strong technical and Agile mentorship skills, guiding on the engineering vision and helping teams increase their performance.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills to build relations and influence.
