About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to join our team at Sturt House, a recovery-focused rehabilitation unit providing specialist mental health treatment for males aged 18 and over.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide clinical leadership and expertise to the nursing team
  2. Lead by example, acting as a role model to all members of the nursing team
  3. Manage the on-call service and ward budgets
  4. Empower recovery and deliver supervision to staff across the ward
  5. Provide leadership and guidance to support a unified service and engaged workforce
  6. Ensure high standards are in place, followed, and improved in accordance with the Clinical Governance framework
  7. Utilise and supervise all nursing staff effectively
  8. Be an expert resource on nursing care of service users within the specialism and hold a key role in the multidisciplinary team

Requirements

  1. A relevant nursing qualification
  2. NMC registration
  3. A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
  4. A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice
  5. Relevant experience in a similar environment
  6. Proven track record of leadership skills
