About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Speech Language Therapist to join our adult in-patient service at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist assessment and treatment along various clinical pathways, including neurorehabilitation, stroke, care of the elderly, general medicine, respiratory, and trauma.

Key Requirements

  • HCPC registration
  • RCSLT registration
  • Recognised degree in Speech & Language Therapy
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate experience with dysphagia within a range of caseloads
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate experience with acquired communication disorders within a range of caseloads
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate experience with dysphagia assessment and management
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate experience with assessment and intervention of a range of communication impairments
  • Knowledge of the importance of CPD and best practice within SLT
  • Awareness of Clinical Governance and its implications for SLT
  • Awareness of national policies and procedures that impact on SLT practice, e.g., NICE guidelines
  • Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice, including awareness of regulatory and professional bodies (HCPC /RCSLT), their code of practice and professional guidelines
