Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Team Lead to join our team at DSV. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives and ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of warehouse operatives to achieve business targets and ensure an efficient warehouse operation
  • Provide line management to the team, coordinating workloads, and ensuring production targets, KPIs, and quality standards are met
  • Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards
  • Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation, training new operatives, and ensuring inventories and stock movements are accurate
  • Identify systems improvements and make recommendations for change, and resolve any issues or problems that occur in the warehouse
  • Produce regular reports and statistics as required, and assist in planning future capacity requirements
  • Ensure health and safety meets required standards, and maintain high standards of security in the warehouse
  • Act up for management to cover leave and absence, and manage time and attendance for operatives within the area of responsibility

Requirements

  • Team Leader skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and supervise others
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with staff, customers, and suppliers
  • Good IT skills, particularly in spreadsheets and databases, and a knowledge of warehouse systems
  • Analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvement
  • Good planning skills, with the ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail skills, with the ability to ensure accuracy and quality in all aspects of the job
  • GCSEs Level A-C, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent qualifications, and an appropriate warehousing qualification would be advantageous
  • Certified in Dangerous Goods Handling, and a supervisory qualification would also be beneficial
  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Team Leader, with experience of supervising and motivating a team
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements, and knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous
  • Fork Lift Truck licence may be required
