Job Overview

As a Junior Engineer with The Green Recruitment Company, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, focusing on the operation, maintenance, and optimization of anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities. You will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, working with cutting-edge technology that converts organic waste into renewable energy and valuable by-products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Operations team during the scoping of new projects, under the guidance of the Project Engineering Leader and Senior Process Engineer.
  • Work alongside Process Engineers to develop engineering deliverables and provide support for capital projects.
  • Assist Project Engineers during the commissioning phase of major projects.
  • Lead a process improvement project from the initial scope and design through to completion and handover to operations, with support from the engineering team.
  • Foster a positive safety culture and ensure all site activities comply with relevant Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards, in collaboration with the engineering team.

  • Exhibit a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and consistently deliver outstanding internal customer service.
  • Maintain a steadfast commitment to ensuring safe work environments and practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers, business partners, and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations.

  • Apply commercial awareness to optimize resource utilization while meeting agreed-upon tasks and targets.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances to ensure timely and standard-compliant delivery of work programs.
  • Utilize technical and professional expertise to solve business problems, either independently or by collaborating with others to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Delegate tasks effectively based on the complexity of the work and individual capabilities.
  • Demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills to ensure objectives are met efficiently.
  • Hold a valid (preferably clean) driving license.
  • Possess excellent IT skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the ability to adapt to various ERP systems, including in-house platforms. Experience with Microsoft Project or similar tools is preferred.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar A Level/ Baccalaureate /Scottish Highers - including Math's; Chemistry; Biology
  • Desirable: Masters in Engineering
