Key Responsibilities

Payroll and Compensation

  • Coordinate payroll and collate payroll information for our accounts and payroll providers.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee salary and payroll inquiries.
  • Support the HR Manager with the annual salary review process, including delivering salary review timescales and outcomes.
  • Provide compensation and benefits support for the Firm, including benefits advice to line managers and employees.

Employee Lifecycle

  • Advise Team Leaders on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, and restructuring.
  • Assist in reviewing existing policies.
  • Manage maternity processes, flexible working, and other family-friendly initiatives.
  • Manage absence management processes, sickness-related cases, and assist with return-to-work meetings, engaging Occupational Health when necessary.
  • Maintain HR records to ensure audit-level compliance with our accreditation schemes.

Learning and Development

  • Be the primary contact with apprenticeship providers and support our existing apprentices.
  • Identify ways to utilize the Firm's Apprenticeship Levy.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements for Trainee Solicitor qualifications.
  • Support the Training Principal in managing Trainee Solicitor pathways, including registration, performance management, and admission.
  • Oversee the administration of all learning and development activities.

Recruitment

  • Participate in recruitment campaigns, ensuring best practice and an exemplary candidate experience.
  • Develop knowledge of the legal recruitment market and advise on best practices.
  • Deputize for the Talent and Acquisitions Advisor when necessary.

Other

Contribute to other HR departmental projects and activities as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background.
  • CIPD qualified at Level 5 or Level 7.

Skills and Experiences

  • Minimum 3 years' HR experience, preferably in professional services.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Practical and logical, with the ability to solve problems quickly.
  • Proven reward and compensation experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of MS Office and HR systems.
