We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Specialist to join our team at Ark Workplace Risk. As a Senior Fire Safety and Strategy Expert, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional fire safety solutions to our clients in the built environment.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake complex fire risk assessments and develop fire strategies for high-rise residential and commercial buildings.
- Review and create building safety management systems to ensure compliance with UK building regulations.
- Conduct compartmentation surveys and make recommendations to improve fire safety.
- Develop corporate fire safety management systems across client portfolios.
- Act as an internal source of expertise for the team and provide guidance on fire safety matters.
- Support clients with contentious matters, including fire brigade interventions and site management systems.
- Implement fire safety advice and site management systems, audits, and reviews.
- Design fire management plans for existing buildings and create fire safety solutions across a range of sites.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Ark to contribute to new projects and developments.
- 8+ years of experience working as a Fire Safety Consultant in the built environment.
- Extensive experience in undertaking fire specialist work, including fire strategies, fire management plans, and complex fire risk assessments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent report writing abilities to deliver client reports.
- Comprehensive understanding of current UK building regulations, including Approved Document B.
- Working knowledge of relevant Approved Documents and relevant Standards, including BS9991, BS9999, BS9997, and PAS 9980.
- Ongoing dedication to CPD and professional development.
- Recognised fire safety memberships, such as GIFireE or MIFireE or MIFSM.
- EngTech Highly Advantageous.
- Ideally on Tier 3 IFSM, FRACS, or IFE fire risk assessor register or operating at that level.
- Fire safety/fire engineering diploma level 5 or level 4 working towards Level 5.
- A competitive package from £67,000 to £72,000 pa, subject to location, skills, experience, and track record.
- The majority of our work is around London, with a national remit and occasional travel required.
