Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Terrorism Underwriter Specialist to join our team at Chubb. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget, and local business plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget, and local business plan.
  • Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts, and portfolio management in order to achieve underwriting profitability.
  • Ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews and peer reviews.
  • Work closely with underwriters in other lines of business across the UK&I to maximise cross sell opportunities.
  • Prioritise and develop products within area of specialist expertise in order to improve client retention and new business.
  • Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal and external clients domestically and overseas.
  • Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframes for quoting new and renewal business, and compliance rules.
  • Work within the framework of Chubb ethical and service standards.

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of underwriting Terrorism and Political Violence.
  • Good working knowledge of Multinational Underwriting, the insurance market, and competitors.
  • Solid experience of dealing with brokers and clients.
  • Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
  • Adaptable and resilient to changes in market conditions and business requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail with experience using complex pricing and risk selection tools.
  • Experience of training, mentoring, and people development is desired.
  • Continues to develop technical and broader business skills.
  • Strong team player and ability to build strong relationships quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.
  • ACII preferred.
