MLK Education Search is seeking a skilled Mathematics Educator to join an Outstanding college. This role is perfect for industry professionals looking to transition into teaching through the fully funded Taking Teaching Further scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that support learner progression, taking into account their needs and interests.
- Promote safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding.
- Record attendance and academic notes on Arbor MIS.
- Track learner progression on allocated Google Sheets.
- Develop innovative opportunities for interdepartmental and intradepartmental project collaborations.
- Use a range of assessment methods and provide outstanding and prompt feedback to inspire learners.
- Complete learner one-to-one tutorials and individual learning plans on a bi-termly basis.
- Facilitate enrichment trips and guest speaker events.
- Work towards a stable learner retention and qualification achievement rate.
- Undertake in-house training to remain up-to-date with awarding body expectations.
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
- Extremely organised and motivated, with the ability to manage your own workload effectively and flexibly.
- Proven outstanding teaching and communication skills, with a strong understanding of the Ofsted framework.
- Solution-focused and able to respond to data trends.
- Assertive and confident in learning environment management.
- Ambitious and committed to meeting targets, setting standards of behaviour and work.
- Empathy towards challenges faced by young adults with high free school meals and poverty rates.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in teaching Functional Skills Maths E3-L2, GCSE Mathematics, and Core Principles Mathematics (Level 3).
- Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2).
- Degree/relevant qualification in the subject area.
- L5 teaching qualification preferred – relevant experience will be advantageous.
