Senior Bookkeeper Job Description


Right Now Group, a leading provider of project management, event management, and exhibition services, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join their team based in Stanwell. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with accounting standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including budget vs. actual analysis and variance reports.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts, monitoring and managing balances, and ensuring timely and accurate entries.
  • Process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, and assist with internal and external audits as required.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior bookkeeping staff, and continuously improve accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Accounting Software: Strong experience with Sage 50 and a strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
