About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our team at the University of Essex. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and beverage services to our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of catering staff to provide exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and labor expenses to ensure efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with the hospitality team to plan and execute special events and functions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and other relevant policies.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
