About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Satellite Communications Systems Engineer to join our team at Airbus in Stevenage. As a key member of our Future Payload Products team, you will play a crucial role in the development of next-generation satellite payloads, utilizing cutting-edge digital, RF, and optical technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop future satellite payloads, including antennas, beamformers, and on-board digital signal processors for space-based applications.
  • Ensure that RF, digital, and photonics hardware combine with firmware and software to deliver future-proof systems to meet our customers' needs.
  • Conduct system design, simulation, analysis, and laboratory prototyping of digital, photonics, and RF systems.
  • Assess, manage, and steer supplier technology and equipment development.
  • Customer requirement specification and negotiation.
  • Concept feasibility and generation of new ideas, influencing Airbus roadmaps and strategy.
  • Sourcing funding through demonstrating value of products through proposals to institutions and agencies, and internally within Airbus.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced engineer with a strong background in systems engineering, particularly in the field of communications, satellite communications, and/or secure communications. You should have a deep understanding of system/equipment RF/digital/silicon hardware, firmware, or software detailed design, as well as terrestrial or space communications networking.
