Location: Neath Port Talbot

Contract: Part-time

Hours: 22 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative qualified Counsellor to work with Children and Young People up to the age of 25 who may be at risk of disengaging from education, work or training.

The successful candidate will provide direct counselling, group work, workshops, and training to children and young people, as well as contribute to the development of the School Based Counselling Service within the authority.

The ideal candidate will have a Professional Diploma in Counselling and be accredited/registered with the BACP or UKCP or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counselling to Children and Young People up to the age of 25
  • Deliver group work, workshops, and training to children and young people
  • Contribute to the development of the School Based Counselling Service within the authority
  • Collaborate with other staff within the Inclusion Service and take part in multi-disciplinary consultations with schools
  • Enhance the skills of school-based staff

Requirements:

  • Professional Diploma in Counselling
  • Accredited/registered with the BACP or UKCP or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Commitment to the concept of inclusive education
