About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our IT and Infrastructure team at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our distributed systems, including our Check_mk monitoring system and orchestration infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-availability systems and infrastructure to support our scientific research and data storage needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues, and to develop and implement new technologies and processes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and Standard Operation Procedures to ensure smooth operation of our systems and to enable our Service Desk team to provide effective support.
  • Contribute to the development of our automation infrastructure and guide other team members in its use.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Linux production systems, preferably with on-premise hardware.
  • Experience with 389 directory server or OpenLDAP.
  • Experience reviewing Python or Go code created by other team members.
