Job Title: DevOps Engineering Lead

BT Group is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineering Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our DevOps practices, ensuring the smooth operation of our development environments, and driving continuous improvement within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the development environment, ensuring all hosts, modules, certificates, and tools are up-to-date.
  • Monitor the status of the development environments and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Install and upgrade Development Environment technologies, including Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, Elastic, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK), Jupyter, and Zeppelin.
  • Manage the Repository (GitLab) and the CI/CD pipelines.
  • Advise the team on platform, infrastructure, and DevOps best practices.
  • Lead on complex technical deliverables, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor and resolve vulnerabilities across the platform.
  • Own and provide input into the development and implementation of operational processes, policies, and procedures, including platform and secops processes.
  • Proactively drive forward continuous improvement within the team.
  • Provide effective technology coaching and mentoring both inside and outside the team.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to maintain service availability when necessary.
