Empowering Learning: Supporting Students with Special Needs

We are working with a Primary school in Knaresborough to find a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Support Assistant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students with special needs.
  • Provide support to students with autism, including developing strategies to promote their social and academic development.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
