About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as an Autism Support Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to work with two young adults with autism, providing bespoke care and education in a family home setting.

As a Specialist Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the care and educational support team, working closely with the young adults, their family, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement care and education plans in collaboration with the young adults, their family, and other professionals.
  • Lead and motivate a team of support assistants to provide high-quality care and education.
  • Provide direct support to the young adults, using positive behavior support and other strategies to promote their learning and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with parents and professionals to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care.
  • Contribute to the development of resources and programs to support the young adults' learning and life opportunities.
  • Champion the delivery of education and model effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidance on safeguarding, manual handling, health and safety, and GDPR.
Requirements
  • Experience working with young adults with autism and a commitment to their learning and well-being.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Patience, calmness under pressure, and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Hold or working towards NVQ level 3 or more, with a commitment to career progression.
  • Experience in personal care and a willingness to engage with training and development opportunities.
